Product Design Cycle
AI makes building fast. This program teaches what it can't do for you: finding the right problem and judging the right solution, the way product designers work at big companies. From discovery to a shipped product, with AI in the making.
About the program
In this program you practice the decisions behind a product: finding the problem worth solving, understanding the people who have it, and judging which solution is right before it ships. We work through prepared cases phase by phase, following the cycle product designers use at big companies. In the making part (exploring, crafting and development), you also learn where AI speeds up the work and where your judgment has to lead. It's practical, not theoretical: we don't start from Figma basics or an intro to UI/UX. Those are covered separately, outside the program.
This program is for you if you are
- Designers who make fast, often with AI, and want the judgment to make the right thing
- Junior designers who want to grow the judgment AI can't give them, from real problems
- Designers who have to decide what to build, work with stakeholders, and sometimes ship it themselves
- People who prefer practical learning over theory
Curriculum
We follow the 6 phases of my workflow, from discovery to monitoring. In exploring, crafting and development, AI helps you make the product, and you learn both ways it reaches users: handing it off to engineers in a team, or shipping it yourself.
- Phase 1Discovery
Discover problem · Looking for opportunity
You leave with: A problem worth solving, and the opportunity behind it
- Phase 2Analyze
Understanding the problem · Empathize user target · Develop hypothesis · Looking for insight (qual or quant)
You leave with: A hypothesis backed by user insight
- Phase 3Exploring with AISolutioning + Concepting
Brainstorming · Ideating for possible solution · Create high level concept · Create flow · Create wireframe (lo-fi)
- With AI: Turn a rough wireframe into several clickable concepts
- With AI: Narrow them to one in short feedback rounds
- With AI: Turn Figma frames into clickable flows, not static screens
You leave with: 3+ clickable concepts, narrowed to 1
- Phase 4Crafting with AI
Crafting UI (hi-fi) · Test the design (if needed)
- With AI: Create an agent that knows your design system and builds hi-fi UI with it
- With AI: Test every click, keystroke, and screen size
You leave with: A hi-fi flow from a design system, tested
- Phase 5Development with AI
Hand-off design to Eng · Doing UI Audit · Making sure the experience as expected
- With AI: Export the coded flow back to Figma as annotated boards
- With AI: Automate the UI audit: layout, contrast, every screen
- With AI: Or build the flow and put it live yourself
You leave with: Figma boards and an audit report for engineers, or the flow shipped live by you
- Phase 6Monitoring
Monitor product performance
You leave with: The metrics to watch after launch
Learning outcomes
- Understanding how product designers work
- Identifying and solving the right problem
- Designing with intention
- Understanding other important things in the design process such as user research, developing and validating hypotheses, presenting & communicate design concepts to stakeholders, usability testing, design handover, UI QA, etc
- Implementing what we have learned directly into our work.
- Using AI where it speeds up the work: exploring concepts, crafting UI, and handing off or shipping it yourself
Format and delivery
- The discussions will be live and fully online
- The program length is 7 weeks with approximately 7 online discussion sessions, every Sunday at 21.00 WIB, 1.5 hours per session
- The language used will be Bahasa Indonesia
- The program will be cohort-based, each cohort will have a maximum of 5-10 participants.
- Or learn self-paced on my learning platform: lessons in text, use cases and practice (coming soon)
- To practice hands-on with AI, have at least one paid AI plan, like Claude or ChatGPT (not included in the program price)
Benefits
- Exclusive community and group to share ideas, design discussion, portfolio, get feedback, career discussion and help each other
- One 1:1 mentoring session with the facilitator, booked after the program ends (live cohort)
- Cohort course & all live sessions will be recorded and available forever
- No homework
