Design to Ship
Take a concept to a shipped product, with AI. A focused program on phases 3-5 of my workflow: exploring, crafting and development.
About the program
Design to Ship is the making half of the product design cycle. You take a rough idea to clickable concepts, then to hi-fi UI built from a design system, then hand it off to your engineers or ship it yourself. AI speeds up the making; the decisions stay yours.
This program is for you if you are
- Designers who know what to build, and want AI to build it: concepts, UI, then hand it off or ship it themselves
- Design builders who already code and want a design system AI can follow, and a loop between code and Figma
- PDC graduates who want to go deeper on the making part of the cycle
Curriculum
4 weeks, one part each. Every part ends with something you made.
- Week 1Setup
Tools, a design system with rules AI can follow, and your first agent.
You leave with: Your own rules file and agent
- Week 2Exploring with AI
- With AI: Turn a rough wireframe into several clickable concepts
- With AI: Narrow them to one in short feedback rounds
- With AI: Turn Figma frames into clickable flows, not static screens
You leave with: 3+ clickable concepts, narrowed to 1
- Week 3Crafting with AI
- With AI: Create an agent that knows your design system and builds hi-fi UI with it
- With AI: Test every click, keystroke, and screen size
You leave with: A hi-fi flow from your design system, tested
- Week 4Development with AI
- With AI: Export the coded flow back to Figma as annotated boards
- With AI: Automate the UI audit: layout, contrast, every screen
- With AI: Or build the flow and put it live yourself
You leave with: Figma boards and an audit report for your engineers, or the flow shipped live by you
What stays human
AI speeds up the making. These stay with you, and we practise them every week.
- I decide, AI draftsAI gives me options. Choosing between them is still the design work.
- The design is the specAI builds what I designed in Figma. It doesn't replace taste.
- Real content, not made upAI fills empty screens with made-up numbers and quotes. I use real ones, or leave it out.
- Verify before it shipsEvery screen is checked in a real browser before anyone sees it.
Format
- Two ways to join: live sessions with a cohort, or self-paced on my learning platform (lessons in text, use cases and practice)
- Schedule, session length and language will be announced
- To practice hands-on with AI, have at least one paid AI plan, like Claude or ChatGPT (not included in the program price)
